Uribe Accuses Chávez of Complicity in Terrorism Before International Court

The news agency reports without clarification that Jaime Granados, legal representative of the now former Colombian president Álvaro Uribe, officially filed a lawsuit against Hugo Chávez on Friday at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for violations of the indefinite Rome Statute and human rights. Uribe’s argument is that by allowing unrestricted presence of narco-terrorists on Venezuelan soil, to rest, regroup, coordinate, and launch new attacks against Colombia, Chávez is complicit in terrorist activities.

I couldn’t agree more, although I doubt the ICC will take action against an interim president. The positive thing, however, is that violations of human rights and crimes against humanity do not expire. Granados raised similar issues with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, according to the report.
