While Nicolás Maduro’s regime attacks the U.S. in its speeches, his children live, study, and succeed in the very country they label as “enemy.” The case of Samira Al Attrach highlights this hypocrisy.
Queen of Chavismo in Washington D.C.
Chavismo has built its narrative around confronting the “American empire.” However, contrary to what they preach publicly, many high-ranking officials send their children to live and thrive in the U.S. The case of Samira Al Attrach, daughter of a key official in Maduro’s regime, exposes this contradiction in full.
The Case of Samira Al Attrach
Samira Al Attrach is the daughter of Samir Al Attrach, a prominent figure within Nicolás Maduro’s regime, serving as the Unique Authority for the Economic Zone of Peace in Nueva Esparta. While her father oversees economic policies for Chavismo, his daughter lives and studies in the heart of the “empire”: Washington D.C.
Samira is pursuing pre-med studies at Georgetown University, one of the most prestigious universities in the United States, and was crowned Miss Venezuela DMV 2025 (Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia), a title with which she will represent Venezuela in the Hispanic Heritage Parade in October 2025.
A Powerful Father in the Regime
Samir Al Attrach is a veteran of the Chavista apparatus: a career diplomat, thesis advisor to Nicolás Maduro Guerra (“Nicolasito”), and a senior official accused by the U.S. of being part of a narcoterrorism cartel. Despite holding a strategic position within the regime, his family is established and thriving in the U.S., symbolizing the country they portray as the “enemy” in Venezuela.
More Than a Model Student
Samira is not just any young woman:
– Premed at Georgetown 🇺🇸
– Miss Global Táchira 2016
– Miss Venezuela DMV 2025
– Arab-Italian-Latina
– Active on social media as @samira_alattrach
While millions of Venezuelans have been forced to flee due to hunger, repression, and lack of opportunities, the children of the “revolution” enjoy the privileges of the “empire” they call their enemy.
A Recurring Practice of Chavismo
This is not an isolated case. It represents the Chavista hypocrisy: they condemn the U.S. in their speeches, yet send their children to study, live, and succeed there. The children of the Chavista revolution enjoy the very heart of the empire. Their parents have destroyed a country, while they parade in elite universities, beauty pageants, and social media.
Double Standards Exposed
How long will the double discourse last? How long will the Chavista elite live like millionaires abroad while the Venezuelan people suffer at home?
What they say: “The empire attacks us.”
What they do: They live, study, and parade in the empire.
The double morality of the Bolivarian revolution, laid bare.
