The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) has just released a comprehensive and detailed report on Venezuela, which begins with: “To date, the State has refused to allow the IACHR to visit Venezuela, not only undermining the powers assigned to the Commission as the main body of the OAS for the promotion and protection of human rights but also severely weakening the protection system created by the Member States of the Organization.” From there, everything goes downhill for Hugo Chávez. However, the question remains: will the OAS ever take action against the assault on democracy and the systematic undermining of human rights carried out by the Venezuelan coup leader? (hat tip Pedro)
