London, May 21, 2012 | This is the kind of initiative that everyone in Venezuela should support. Election experts, meaning people who have taken the time to investigate and follow the various schemes that the ailing leader and his election ministry have orchestrated since 2004, will present in a public forum the different issues Venezuelans face when voting. Any Venezuelan who still believes at this point that the results announced by the CNE reflect reality and how people actually vote is, to put it bluntly, way off base and not even hitting the mark.
It would be interesting to know if Ramon Guillermo Aveledo, who blatantly lied to the country in an interview on Globovisión claiming that the electoral system had been “sufficiently audited,” will attend this forum (none of my contacts in Venezuela, nor those of my blogging colleagues, are aware of the alleged audits that the MUD supposedly conducted according to what Aveledo says). Will other self-proclaimed MUD leaders attend? Or will they continue with the farce that insists elections in Venezuela are nothing more than what Chavez decides? We’ll wait and see… In the meantime, those who can read should stay informed.
