The letter below, from Congressman Carlos Ramos (the same one who exposed the $29 billion deficit in FONDEN), highlights issues regarding the contract between Gemalto and a questionable Cuban intermediary with no proven track record, for providing electronic IDs to Venezuela. I will ensure that a copy of the letter reaches and is acknowledged by Gemalto. Given that a Venezuelan Congressman is raising these concerns, it is likely that Gemalto will have to respond.
