Hugo Chavez Exposed as Collaborator with Terrorist Networks

INTERPOL has just announced what was an unavoidable conclusion: Colombia did not produce the files and data found on the laptops of the slain narco-terrorist Raúl Reyes, who was killed in Ecuador on March 1 of this year. Since then, the information on those laptops has led Colombian authorities to seize uranium in Bogotá and cash in Costa Rica. It is likely that President Uribe’s total eradication policy against the FARC narcoterrorists will be fueled by the vast amount of data, much of which points to Caracas. That Chávez has been cozy with Colombian narco-terrorists is nothing new. What will be truly interesting is how President Uribe outmaneuvers Chávez with the information he has now: the top FARC leaders are moving freely in Venezuela, where they are granted presidential protection.

So, what do INTERPOL’s findings mean? It confirms that Chávez’s relationship with the FARC has been, as many of us have maintained for years, close and profound. It reveals that the Venezuelan caudillo, behind the backs of his voters, has been arming, protecting, giving sanctuary, granting citizenship, and utilizing members of an organization deemed terrorist by 27 European countries, the United States, and Canada for political purposes. Chávez’s terrorist allies have murdered, mutilated, tortured, and kidnapped Venezuelan citizens. For this, he must be tried for treason, and sooner or later, he and his collaborators will have to face justice.

INTERPOL’s conclusions also mean that anyone who has collaborated, praised, apologized for, or spread propaganda in favor of someone who aids and incites terrorism is, by association, a supporter of terrorism. Readers have emailed to ask for my impression regarding Ken Livingstone’s defeat in the London mayoral vote. I patiently waited for INTERPOL’s official report to say that London does not deserve a mayor who, by association, supports terrorism. Evo Morales, Rafael Correa, Lula, the Kirchners, Daniel Ortega, and the Cuban dictatorship are also supporters of terrorism. Joe Kennedy, Bill Delahunt, José Miguel Insulza, Sean Penn, Piedad Córdoba, TransAfrica Forum, Larry Birns, and their eclectic group of associates are equally guilty. From this day forward, anyone who openly stands with Chávez is, by association, a supporter of terrorism and should be treated as such by authorities and public opinion worldwide. The honeymoon is over.
