Norwegian Foundations and Think Tanks Allegedly Manipulate 2025 Nobel Peace Prize Decision in Favor of María Corina Machado

A study by the Venezuelan platform La Tabla reveals a complex network of institutional and personal connections in Norway that could have influenced the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize 2025 to opposition leader María Corina Machado.

According to the report, Kristin Clemet, a member of the Nobel Committee, has collaborated closely with the Oslo Freedom Forum (OFF) through her think tank Civita – a platform established by Thor Halvorssen Mendoza, cousin of Leopoldo López and a key figure in the international campaign for Venezuela’s opposition.

The network is strengthened by the Fritt Ord foundation, which has financially supported OFF and honored Clemet in 2017. In 2021, Jørgen Watne Frydnes, the current head of the Nobel Committee, also received an award from Fritt Ord.

Documents show that Clemet publicly defended OFF and its participants as “champions of freedom and human rights.” She also published an article in 2024 claiming that Venezuela’s presidential elections were marred by widespread fraud.

Additionally, there is photographic evidence of Leopoldo López at events related to Civita, confirming a direct link between Norwegian institutions and the Venezuelan opposition.

These findings strengthen the hypothesis that a structural network in Norway may have influenced the Nobel Committee’s decision in 2025.
