Online Reputation Management Tactics of Venezuelan Politicians and Business Elites Face Legal Threats

Remember that Kenneth Rijock, a banking attorney turned money laundering expert, compliance officer, and financial crime consultant, sent me a series of articles about politically exposed persons (PEP): PEPwatch Venezuela: beware of privately held corporations controlled by the government (Part 1 undefined), (Part 2 undefined), and (Part 3 undefined).
Rijock’s articles identified several boliburgueses, including Fernández Barrueco, Sarkis Beloune Arslanian, retired general Gustavo Adolfo Sánchez González, Khaled Khalil Majzoub, and his brother Majed Khalil Majzoub, acting as fronts for chavista officials such as Diosdado Cabello, Adán Chávez, and Jessy Chacón.

Some, or all, of the mentioned parties must be planning for a future without Chávez and have started to express concern about the information written by Rijock, published on vcrisis.com and republished by Miguel in the Excremento del Diablo undefined. One of them, or someone acting on their behalf, has been sending me communications demanding that I remove the articles identifying them as written by Rijock.
Just to leave a record for future reference, I will publish here their communications and my responses.

Basis of responsibility for cyber defamation
a) Characterizations of the distributor/editor: one of the most important issues in cyber defamation is whether online service providers, bulletin board operators, or website owners are common carriers, distributors, or publishers.
b) Publishers, such as newspapers, magazines, and broadcasters, are responsible for everything they produce, publish, and distribute. Their liability is based on the fact that they can edit what they wish to include and exclude from their publication, whether it’s a newspaper, magazine, television program, website, or news group.
