The coastal community of Las Cuevas is in mourning after the tragic confirmation of the deaths of two Trinidadian citizens, Chad “Charpo” Joseph (26) and a man identified as Samaroo. They lost their lives in the latest airstrike by the United States against a boat allegedly linked to drug trafficking in waters near Venezuela, as reported by the Trinidad Guardian.
President Donald Trump announced the operation on social media, claiming that the speedboat was transporting drugs and operating along routes associated with narco-terrorist networks. This bombing, part of a military offensive that has now totaled five attacks in the region, has raised the death toll to 27.

Family members of Joseph deny any links to illegal activities. “My son was not into drugs,” stated his mother, Lenore Burnley, who expressed her sorrow over not having a body to bury. Neighbors like Kern characterized the attack as “inhumane” and questioned the legality of destroying the vessel without conclusive evidence.
Joseph’s grandmother, Christine Clement, revealed that Joseph had been trying to return to Trinidad from Venezuela, where he had been living for the past three months. “The first time they shot at the boat, he survived. This time he wasn’t so lucky,” she said.
The Trinidadian government has yet to release any official statements.
