Williams F1’s Controversial £29.4 Million Invoicing of PDVSA for 2012 Season Revealed

LaPatilla.com has released an invoice from Williams F1 to PDVSA, dated September 12, 2011, to ensure pay-driver Pastor Maldonado’s continuation with the team for the 2012 season.

The requested amount for 2012 is £29,400,000, to be paid to Williams Grand Prix Engineering Limited’s Barclay’s bank account no. 00968277, sort code 20-01-09. The invoice includes accurate details for Williams’ VAT registration no. (GB 100 1901 88) and company no. (1297497).

According to the profit & loss account for Williams F1 up to the end of 2010, the company reported a turnover of approximately £91 million, alongside a profit of about £6 million. However, Williams F1 also carries losses totaling around £88 million. In contrast to these figures, the £29.4 million from PDVSA appears to be the best deal for Williams F1, representing roughly a third of the turnover from 2010. The amount listed in the invoice, due for 2012, aligns with the sponsorship contract between Williams F1 and PDVSA.
